I’m looking to start training a year ahead of doing a western hunt. Besides a 50lb bag on my back and climbing hills with it what are some great exercises should I incorporate!?

Hunting is an endurance sport, not a sprint. Therefore, most of your work in the next year should focus on building your aerobic base, along with some strength training to insure that you are ready if you have to pack out an animal. Check out https://uphillathlete.com/ for some detailed articles on this subject.

@hunting1 said just about everything I would have said. The only thing I would add is mobility work. Make sure you stay flexible so you can maneuver over downfall and random stuff like that
