I have 1 or 3 that get left in the mountains on purpose as snow blocks access early in the fall and you cant get back in until July, so I put new batteries in october and cam keeps running until I get back in july.

I have a few cellular ones up on my property in Texas. They have a solar charger built in. No complaints at all. I get to monitor my property from anywhere on the planet, pretty cheap.

We run an aggressive network of trail cameras here in Montana. It's our only way to scout because it's so thick and steep. We leave them out all year with Energizer Lithiums and they'll have a full charge for over a year. That's with hundreds of pictures and being covered in snow occasionally.

I try to keep them out all year if possible, though I’ve only got three right now so I’ll move them around after a while to try get more coverage. It’s amazing the amount you can learn about deer behaviour over a whole year.

I used to, but most of the places I run them they are under snow for much of the winter and it's hard on cameras. Some fair okay, some are ruined.

As others have said, I use lithium batteries as well and can get almost a full year of operation out of a set.
