Looking at buying 2017 Tundra , I have the auto check report but it seems to me there were some free online sources where you can see a vehicle's history by providing the vin#
Any of you folks familiar with this?

I am not aware of anything that’s free but there’s a few members that have Carfax accounts here that have ran vins for me. I won’t out them but hopefully they will be able to help you.

It’s just going to give you build sheet info.
Like what options it had, tow package etc
Like for me I wanted a red off-road or higher to get the 38gal fuel tank.
And if it came with tow package it should also list transmission cooler.
At least for the older trucks 05 ish you could of ordered one without tow package

You should be able to just google Toyota Vin Decoder

Also just google the vin number. I often don’t find much, but have ended up finding pics on auction sites of rigs that were smashed to bits.

I got the Carfax app on my phone. Keep up with all the oil changes and stuff I do on my 99 4runner and the 05 tundra I just sold. If you have the app, you could add the vin # to your list of vehicles. It will show you all the service done to it. Once you check that, you can delete the vehicle from your list. Good way to at least show you the service record.
On a side note. I just sold my 05 tundra and bought a 16 tundra double cab. Good luck in your search. Took me a while to find 1 I wanted. Jesse

AutoCheck is a worthless tool. Doesn’t ever come up negative. That’s why most dealers prefer to use it.
