Too many unknowns here. I suspect he shot her with fine shot...possibly some pellets hitting her in the face.

But yes, grizzly bears are very tenacious of life especially once riled.

This was a few years ago in BC and birdshot for sure. The guy said he was trying to scare it away

that could of turned into a tragic situation..seemed from what i observed the bear went after him quickly.he somehow got to safety or the bear did turn off.either way that is one bear that needed to be killed.could be extremely dangerous.
