As long as I have been a member of this site I have seen that the Tikka T3 riles have been held in a high regards. I have shot a couple and they are indeed excellent shooting rifles, I was wondering though if anyone has had a chance to review the new T3x yet? A lot of the complaints (small as they were) on the T3 seem to have been addressed on the T3x and was wondering if anyone has got to play with one yet?

Just handling a couple in the store I was unimpressed. The plastic stock fit around the bottom metal was poor and there were some sharp edges that couple bite a guy on harder recoiling chamberings. The recoil pad was improved, but overall underwhelmed by the t3X synthetic model.

I talked to my local dealer who told me the barrels on the T3X's are now the same "select" grade as SAKO where as previous T3's were of a lesser quality. I have no idea if that is true or not, just dealer/gun counter talk.

The barrels of my regular T3 was pretty good for a factory gun. If they are upgraded over that they could be really nice. I have in mind the laminate grey, stainless version in 270 WSM but keep kicking back and forth if it is worth trading a .300 WM, 700 Synthetic stock stainless DBM with a muzzlebreak for.
