Tikka T3X Superlight accuracy in 6.5 Creedmore expectations?

Question for those members that happen to have the T3X Superlight in 6.5 Creedmore, please.

What kind of real world accuracy are you experiencing? What kind of velocity with the 143 ELDX's?

Do a search for tikka 6.5 rokslide on google. I believe rfurman24 (going off memory for username) has done quite a bit of shooting and load development with a 6.5 CM tikka, might be a lite or superlite, I don't remember. Pretty sure he was having excellent results.

Tikka T3x lite 6.5 cm, 3 shot group at 100 yards (yes that's 3 shots). Bought mine in September and it's been very accurate from the start. I am extremely happy with mine! Hornady eld-x 143.
Killed my buck last month at 400 yards.

My t3x 6.5cm superlite shoots 143gr lead great but I had alot of trouble with copper ammo. Tried 7 different copper rounds and finally settled on 127gr LRX. The 120gr copper had poor groups across all manufacturers.

Shooting the factory Hornady 143 ELDX out of my Tikka T3x lite I’m getting about 2574 fps and shooting about a 0.75” group at 100 yds. First time I ever shot 600 yds I strung together a 5” 5 shot group.

Multiple examples of Superlites and Lites you’ll see 1.1-1.3 MOA for ten (10) round groups.

One thing I don't understand is how slow Tikka barrels are with the ELD-X loads.

Almost 200 fps less than advertised even with the 24" pipe.

I was wondering the same thing. I get over 2900 FPS in ELD-X hand loads using RL 26 and just figured if I ever got in a bind on the road I’d just shoot Precision Hunter but I’m realizing I could be giving up 350 FPS

I've got 500+ rounds through a Lite, the majority of that has been 143 ELD-X factory loads. Formidilosus is right on for what my rifle has done. I've shot some 3-5 shot groups into one hole, and 1 to 1.5" groups for 10 shots at 100. Make sure the action screws are torqued right and that you have a good scope.

I'm really interested to hear more about the velocity guys are getting with this combo. I looked up a thread on 24hr CF about truing your velocity via the Shooter app by manually imputing the correction from what the solution initially gives - to what you had to do to make hits. For me, I had 2700 plugged in (since that's whats on the box), and afterward it said the adjusted was 2680. I dont know how good that data is, but I was making consistent hits on a 10" gong at 450. Also, I realize that 450 is not terribly far, and the further out the shots are the more important that is.

Mine does 5 shot groups right at .25moa if I do my part, velocity is slow at 2630. Loading with RL26 is giving me consistent groups of .7 moa at 2790fps. I’ve tried to push the 143 eldx with H4350 but anything over 2650fps really opens up groups way past MOA

It’s just the factory ammo. I’ve gotten from just under 2,600 to just over 2,700 with the 143gr PH ammo. Doesn’t really matter, as even at 2,600 it kills just fine at 600+ yards

I've been using 43.5 gr of Alliant Re 16, CCI 450 primer, Lapua brass and 143 ELD-X. Velocity is a consistent 2725 fps across a wide temperature range..Accuracy is very good, less than 0.5 moa.

So, I got to shoot some factory 143 VLD-X’s. First 3 rounds under a dime at 100. This looks promising....

45.2gr Superformance, 143gr eldx, gunwerks brass, federal 210m primers, set 20 thou off the lands is shooting excellent
5 shot group under the size of a quarter with very low spread and SD. 2711fps avg out of the 20” barrel

Reason I mention this is they use the same barrels Sako and tikka.

Good info. I feel like once the 143 ELD-X hits 2700, that's where the magic happens for true long range capability on medium sized game.

Hornady must just load their rounds SLOWWW, as your data supports.

Those are hand loads I’m shooting.
To be completely honest the 4 animals I’ve shot this year with them ranging from 0-200yrds I’m less than impressed with them.
They blow up and have core separation. I recovered two bullets from two seperate kills.

One from 125ish yrds that went through the ribs and stuck in the scapula. The first shot which I didn’t get to recover the bullet went in frontally and exited mid back on a sitka blacktail, made a mess. The first shot dropped the deer but he got up and tried to take a run. Hence the second.
Second was a similar scenario to the first in the vitals but at 200yrds. They are really violent. Not a meat saver bullet by any means. I’ll be doing some load development with some plain Jane 140gr accubonds.

I honestly wouldn’t shoot an elk or moose with these things unless at bigger yardage’s which I don’t hunt. They are to fragile. I will hopefully get a crack at a Billy and will be using the same bullet. I did see the mess they make on a Billy shot but a guy I talked to recently. He too is going back to accubonds for his creedmoor
