Yes, you need one. Once you have it you'll probably "need" another one.

I believe the one at Sportsmans is about $100 less than the Cabelas version. Tough to find at all these days though always seem to be sold out. I sure like my 7MM-08 though.

They come up on Gunbroker quite often. I have 3 Superlights they are awesome.

If you don’t mind spending an extra $200 you can find the T3X “Hunter” version. This comes with the same fluted barrel as the Superlights but comes with a lightweight fake wood stock. Then either upgrade the stock or find a factory black plastic for next to nothing in classifieds. I actually have 2 factory black plastic stocks I’m going to list soon.

Or be patient as they do pop up on gunbroker or check the local sportsman’s warehouses.

Not sure if it's still the case, but SW had put a hold on shipment to external FFLs last time I checked.
