I ended up with an extra one of these as my friend’s gun that I made it for doesn’t have a factory Tikka stock.
I designed this to use the existing bolt/thread in the factory Tikka T3x stock’s fore end of my 300WM. I’ll also throw in an M5x30 bolt which gives maximum bite while still not touching the barrel (on my 300WM anyway).
The saddle is also lined with a stealth strip to help protect the stock. It’s ~ 2 3/4” long and ends up being really close to the balance point of my rifle. It also contours to the stock and makes for a decent hand stop/hold when it’s not on the tripod.
I only have a cheapy aluminum tripod and off-brand head to test it on (working on that
), but appears sturdy and steady in my testing so far!
It’s 100% solid PLA+ (think lower receiver material).
