I emailed xtreme hardcore gear a couple days ago about getting some scope rails with level made for Tikka actions.

This is their response. I'll be ordering some as soon as they're available.

From Xtremehardcoregear.com

We have not made a pic rail for the Tikka action yet, but this is something that we will be doing. Probably a few months down the road.

Thanks,

Megan - Xtreme Hardcore Gear

Interesting. Subscribing to the thread and please keep us updated. I am looking to purchase a Tikka here in the near future so I would be interested in this as part of the build.

I bought the Tikka Elite Kit from Mountain Tactical and put it on my Tikka rifle and I think it was a pretty good value. The Limbsaver recoil pad, 20 MOA rail, and better fitting recoil lug I would consider to be mandatory upgrades/installs. The black anodized aluminum bolt shroud also comes in the kit is just a nice extra although some people say that it keeps the unit better aligned and on center.

I got the elite rail also. Mine is a 300 win mag. I was running some Warne Maxima rings on the factory receiver mount. After about 6 months of use the rings were destroyed. They moved so much it ripped the recoil lug out of the ring. Put the pic rail on and upgraded to Seekins Precision rings. Been shooting it for about 7 months now. No problems

Mountain Tactical makes the best pic rails for Tikkas. Check them out on Tikka Performance. Com

Curious how you came to that conclusion? Is there something wrong with some of the other brands? Just asking because I have rails on some of my rifles but can't remember who made them.

It's got a machined in recoil lug. Takes all the abuse off the tiny little screws used to mount the rail.

I bought a tikka t3 superlite in 30-06. After researching them, I bought some talley rings for it. Is the rail a good idea for magnums and for those who are shooting longer ranges?

I've not heard of them failing either. But piece of mind is why I got it.
Warn Maxima Rings no base

Mountain Tactical base and Seekins rings

I know a lot of guys running the Talley rings. They should be OK because they use a recoil lug and screws to mount on top of the receiver. The grooved factory mounting location on magnum rifles is not the best choice in my opinion.

I imagine the Tikka rail will be a pretty hot item for them. I asked them and they said they were taking "pre-orders" over the phone only so I called and got my name on the list!

you can get a custom rail right now from Murphy Precision: http://www.murphyprecision.com/. I have ordered from them before and they will do just about anything fairly quickly. they are set up for tikkas and can do a rail in stainless or titanium with different finishes and forward slope.

Received a couple rails a while back.
