I’ve got a Tikka chambered in .300 WSM with the factory 1-11 twist barrel chopped to 21”. Has anyone had issues in stabilizing the 200 grain ELDX or similar? It shoots 180gr Accubonds excellent, but looking at making a change. This might be a stupid question, but if it shoots accurately and groups well at 100 yards with no noticeable keyholing, can I assume it’s stabilizing the bullet?

Yes, that’s fine. The 1-11” twist will stabilize the 215gr Berger.

My 300 WSM shoots the 200 ELD-x really well. Federal loaded version 10 shot group was one big hole about 0.75” across.

Hornady loaded version doesn’t shoot quite as well for me.

What velocity and powder combo?

Those are factory loaded ammo that I bought to see if the rifle liked the 200 ELDX.
Federal is 2820 fps average and shoots really well. I’ve shot this to 725 yards and is impressively consistent for factory ammo.
Hornady loaded is 2715 fps average, doesn’t shoot as well. I don’t remember exactly but it was and inch plus 5 shot maybe 1.5”. Going to shoot some more just haven’t gotten to it yet. Glad I tried the federal first or I might have said the ELDx wasn’t great in my rifle.

My preferred load currently is Berger 200.20x over H4350 going 2760 fps. Extremely accurate and repeatable.
