Here's a few from some recent hunts in the Wrangells (getting fatter). There is a thread in firearms on the 308 and if it's adequate for sheep. Every one of these rams was between 75yds and 175yds, yes a 308,7-08,243, 7mm Mauser, etc,, they would all work just fine. If a person is 500+yds from a ram and doesn't try to close the distance he needs a realality show!

I hunted with Kirk Ellis last year in that area and loved it. Some of the most challenging terrain, great times. Didn't get lucky enough to close in under 200,but it didn't matter ☺

Nice rams. They sure seem to grow wide horns there. Exceptional animals in all your posts. Congrats.

I love the way those Wrangells rams are built, wide and flaring. Incredible pics Waterrat, thanks!

I think you're the Sheep whisperer Waterrat. Great photos again of another range in Alaska. Did you notice that the rams in that area get to full curl at a younger age than other ranges? I've read that about some areas in the Wrangells, but was interested in what you've seen. Thanks.
