A hypothetical scenario to ponder...
Imagine it’s the first week of July and a massive conundrum hits you...
You’ve spent all spring and summer prepping for your once in a lifetime grizzly/moose/caribou hunt in Alaska this fall. Hiking with your pack on, lifting weights, eating healthy, shooting your rifle and dreaming of the 14 day adventure awaiting you.
Then you get a phone call from your outfitter in Africa, when you bought that African plains game hunt at the local REMF banquet you missed that it also includes a Cape buffalo!
After the excitement from your good fortune and drunken bidding wears off, it quickly turns to panic when you realize your two dream hunts are only a few months away and you don’t even have a gun capable of hunting Buffalo... You start combing the internet, searching for guns or calibers that are flat shooting enough for hunting mountain game, but powerful enough to effectively take a Cape buffalo.
You quickly realize a few issues: most calibers capable of taking the big 5 in Africa are woeful long range calibers, and there’s no way you can afford two guns with all your upcoming taxidermy bills.
Then it happens... while your hiding from your wife in the garage “organizing your gear”, you come across ProCision Arms on Rokslide. Inspecting their rifle offerings, you come across something you’ve never heard of, the OH-600.
Your intrigued; you also hunt Ohio for whitetails every year, and this appears to be a long range Ohio-legal straight wall rifle cartridge capable of 1/2 MOA accuracy out to 600 yards.
You call the 800 number, an actual human answers the phone, and you find out this rifle is a one of a kind tool that fills a lot of niches:
-It’s built on a full custom platform: McMillan Stock, Stiller action, Brux barrel, triggertech trigger. Weight is approximately 7.5lbs
-It’s a .458 win mag, shooting a custom high BC hunting bullet at over 2700FPS, and comes with Procisions 1/2 MOA guarantee with their ammo.
It seems too good to be true! You found a rifle capable of taking almost game animal walking the earth, is extremely accurate to long distances, doesn’t weigh 18lbs, the recoil doesn’t break your nose every shot, and it’s priced equivalently to many other high end rifles.
Your overjoyed, but then you realize there is no way a custom rifle builder is going to have a gun like this ready by hunting season. Most builders are a year or more out at this point.
Then the rep tells you “if you order within the next week, your gun will be at your FFL before your first trip!”
Your too busy using your Rokslide discount code and buying the rifle that you don’t even hear the rep explaining they can turn rifles around faster than other custom shops as they have stocked most of their components.
Now it’s time to get back to hiking the hills, knowing you’ll soon have one of the most capable rifles on the planet in your hands for this fall!
