Typically, March 10 to 14'th the big boys are coming down the mountain back of the cabin, plowing down to the beach. Where generally, the first green sprouts show up a week or two later. Till then it is winter, or highway killed moose and freeze-dried salmon from last fall.
It is fascinating to watch them plow down the mountain through five to seven feet of snow, often all you see is the head popping up as they plow. They never seem to stop once they decide to get off the mountain. It is just plow-plow-plow. It is that time of the year to reluctantly start packing a hand cannon.
