I have two options for my late season solo Stone Sheep hunt: Three season two person Sierra Designs lightweight tent, or the O-R Advanced Bivy.....going archery and probably 7 days. New to Bivy's, I have done a few early season Goat hunts with this one and quite like it, just wondering if anyone has experiance with this unit or similar bivys and condensation / cold weather? Planing on packing a 6x9 sil tarp as well. Thanks.

You don't mention where you are hunting and what temps you might expect to encounter. One of my most useable combinations for cold weather is a light-weight tarp tent and bivy. I use an Integral Designs SilDome tarp tent and ID Bugaboo eVent bivy. I'm sure other brands would work equally well. If you can spare a couple of extra pounds this is a great combo. Adding a bivy provides additional warmth and some protection from condensation.

I'll be hunting Stone's in northern B.C. I should be geared up to expect -10 and some wicked winds if the weather goes to crap..... Yeah I was just trying out a very similar combo with my bivy the other night . Kind of leaning that direction instead of the tent, I am planning on moving camp everyday depending on what i'm seeing for game of course, so the bivy feels like the right choice. Thanks.

If truly have the chance to encounter bad, cold weather and planning to be out there for 7 days then you'll want the tent. You might have to sit a storm out and a longer trip like that can be miserable if a bivy. 3 days, no problem in a bivy. 7 days, I don't think I would use a bivy given the weather.
