Need a target so I can get out and start shooting. Whats a descent target that will hold up and not break the bank?

Thanks

I think the rhinehart bag targets are pretty durable. Not sure how much I paid but is was reasonable for the life I have gotten out of it.

If you can afford to, I would avoid bag targets and go with one of the foam offerings from rinehart. I have an 18-1 and a rhinoblock that I have been very impressed with; so much so that I don't see myself buying any other brand of targets going forward. They'll run you somewhere in the neighborhood of $125, but I've found them for less if they were 2nds/cosmetic blems (both of mine are blems) - around $90 or so. Lancaster archery usually has cosmetic blems in stock and they may or may not be able to work with you on the oversize shipping fees (they did with me; all I had to do was call and ask).

For FT I like a bag target. The Cabelas brand held up much better than the Rinehart bag. I'm not a fan of Rinehart bags. For BH I've been using the Block Vault for about a year and it has held up as good as anything for constant BH shots.

I found a guy on ebay that will sell rinehart products and inserts way cheaper then anywhere else I have ever seen. It is under az_trooper.

Contact him on one of his items for sale and ask him what he can do for you if you purchase off ebay. I have purchased a woodland buck & XL block about a year ago and just recently purchased inserts for both. I have not actually talked to him via phone, all through personal email. His name is Rich and his personal email is [email protected].

I asked him about letting others know about his deals and he said it would not be a problem.

For reference I had picked up the XL insert and woodland buck insert for $90 shipped to my house. He deals directly with Rinehart and they ship from them.

Just thought I would pass it along to anyone who may be in the market for a target.

* I am in no way in business with Rich, know him personally or am going to get any kind of kick back. Just seemed like a good guy to do business with and is offering some good prices on great targets.

Rhinehart 18-1 if you can swing it. It works great to place in / on a pack and take a day hike with. Roll it down that hill and shoot it where it stops, as it will help with your yardage estimation as well.

Like mentioned Rineharts are top notch. They will take field tips and broadheads so no need for two separate targets. If it's out of your budget then a good Morrell bag target will do.

I concur on the 18-1. Mine just keeps taking shots. Leave it outside alot and it doesnt seem to care.

Same story... 18-1 is awesome! I would recommend shooting BH and FP on different faces and it seems they will last longer. Shoot the heck out of it and they will replace it within 1 year I believe.

18-1 is great and you are in utah. watch camo fire and blackovis for sales. Camo fire had a pink one for sale a while back at a show for a way good price. If i didnt already have one id have bought it up also.

I have a rinehart block target that is really nice. Also have the rinehart ball/throw target and just picked up a gander mountain branded bag target. $20 cheaper than the rinehart bag and bigger. It definitely stops the arrows.

A friend recommended the block and said he's had one for 5 years. I bought one and have had it less than a year and I had my FP go out the back side this month. My fence stopped the arrow. I guess it all depends on how much you shoot. I never stop shooting just because hunting season is over.

I have two Rhineharts (Glendels are a poor choice IMHO) and the 18-1 I take on hunts for practice and the buck I use for daily practice at distance. If you want a target that will last, get a Rhinehart...they cost a bit more but there's a reason for that. Especially if you are gonna be sending broadheads into it...nothing beats Rhinehart there. But like most of us you will settle for something less and step up to a Rhinehart later...then wish you had started out with one...kinda like a Kifaru pack in that regard. LOL

I've had the best luck with Rhinehart like everyone else.

Only used one GlenDel, but it was garbage, I'll never try another.

I would go with a Rhinehart 18-1 or one of their 3Ds. Was not satisfied with the Delta or Block targets that I have had.
