I need some help deciding what height Talley rings to get. What height ring should I use to mount a Leupold 50mm scope with a one inch tube. Also, what height rings should I use to mount a 50mm scope with a 30mm tube. I haven't decided on the exact scope yet but I know for sure I want to use Talley light weight rings. Thanks for your help.

What gun? Each one is a little different.
On a Tikka, I can clear 44mm objective with lows and 42mm objective with extra lows. I'd get mediums for a 50. (All my experience is 1")

One is a Remington Model 700 in 300 WSM and the other gun is a Browning X Bolt Long Range in 6.5 Creed. Thanks for the help.

Just make sure you get them high enough, not only for scope clearance; but, high enough so that you keep a proper cheek weld and sight picture. Lower rings that cause you to need to tuck your chin or higher ones that cause you to stretch your neck do you no good. Scope clearance is only one part of the formula.

Thanks for the help guys. Anyone else have any experience with the Talley rings and 50 mm scope with either a one inch tube or a 30mm tube?

I have mediums on a 50mm 1" tube, remington action. No go with low rings on a 50mm, but a 40mm 1" tube will fit.

This is a photo of a Bergara (model 700 action type) with a vortex viper 44mm objective . Talley medium mounts.

This 100%…

Just replaced all my rings ($ ouch). They were beautiful <1/8” clearance from the scope caps to barrel…and…I learned it’s hard to look through your eyebrows all the time…lol.

Lows easily clear a 50mm objective with 30mm tube on a Tikka.
