I'm a new member, first post!
Over the last year or so, I have been obsessed with finding tall size camo options. More specifically, tall shirts and jackets.
I'm 6'4" and 230 lbs. I consider myself long torso - at that height I have no problem with 34" inseam pants. But L or XL shirts are too short - I have learned to only purchase tall sizes. I primarily bowhunt whitetails from treestands.... but I also have aspirations for other things. I used the search but could not find similar threads. Let me know if there are similar postings because I don't see it come up much.
I thought I would post about tops I have tried in tall sizes that work for me. Maybe other folks can add some they have tried. There are significantly more options than there were 10 years ago. Also, if someone is interested in a specific piece fit let me know.
Sitka - I wear XL Tall. Have tried and like the fit of: Ambient 100 (hoody and jacket), 200, Mountain Evo, Core LW hoody.
MidwayUSA - I have been wearing XL Tall, but they are a bit too loose in the body compared to Sitka. I could probably run a L Tall but be tight in the shoulders. I have purchased about every jacket and shirt on clearance last year. Elk fork fleece, Prarie creek hoody, Stealth softshell, Fraser Ridge, Merino wool base (100 and 200), Synthetic base, Cold Bay Rain Jacket, and sun shirt hoodies.
Scheels Outfiters - again wearing XL Tall. Musselshell fleece, Highwood Parka, Antler River jacket
I'm not a Sitka fanboy, but their XL Tall size fits me perfectly. It has drawn me to the products that are available in tall. The MidwayUSA is the other side of the spectrum, I purchased many things for very little cost. It's not Sitka, but its not bad and it fits. The Scheels gear is okay.... fits fine, not a bargain but not bad - probably the lowest value proposition in my mind.
There are a few manufacturers that I haven't tried yet but am aware they make talls. Please sound off if there are other options:
Code of Silence, Outdoor Vitals, ScentLok, Cabelas/RedHead.
