Few tips
-Shoot only a hinge for a while.
-Blank bale non stop
-Shoot at only a few yards at a dot to feel the release and work firing engine.
-Slowly work back to linger yardage in time
-Try to relax while you shoot, like your a third party watching the shot
-Breathe.. Don't stop throughout shot.
-Tie a dloop on bungee cord and work on looking at a spot and breaking the shot. Do this nonstop
-Practice aiming at a dot without shooting.. Do this till you find comfort when your in the x

It's all about making the shot subconscious and letting the bow do its thing.

This is good information here! One other thing I would add is when shooting start from scratch each time. So if your shooting from like 5' shoot one arrow, set the bow down pull your arrow and repeat. The reason this is vital is to create 1) shot process 2) burn the process into your mind with repetition.

When you shoot at closer yardages the aiming aspect tends to be much easier and use a bigger dot so its very easy to hold on. You want to make it about execution not aiming, and they are 2 separate mental tasks. Thus when you draw back you want to only aim and the execution be subconscious.

Lastly try to focus on your target and not the pin, the pin will cause more issues. Think of it this way... When you throw a baseball you don't stare at your hand or the ball right... You stare at your target! Same here! Good luck

I had a terrible time with target panic last year and got some great advice on here and have over come it and I'm shooting the best I ever have. Thanks tilzbow and TJ. I got Bernie Pellerite's book idiot proof archery and a Carter squeeze me release and really put in the time retraining myself to shoot with back tension. It is not easy, I spent 2-3 months blind bailing with no sight and had to make a lot of form changes, but it is sooooo worth it!!!!

Change the target you are shooting.. Stop shooting dots and only shoot 3d targets for a while. and BLIND BALE for two weeks without even looking at your pin. Last but not least.. Draw and aim at the target until you can no longer hold and then let down do not fire the shot
