Tablet or laptop and gps solutions

Cell phones and most hiking gps units have real small screens. This is what I am talking about Tablet GPS Solutions - Off-Road Magazine

What do you all do like this?

Of course I bring hard copy maps, a gps and a compass as back up.

I'm just going to load Garmin Base Camp to my laptop and then hard wire, connect to my Garmin Alpha receiver. Done.
