Suggestions for Mil Reticle Education

I have used the search feature but have not located any dedicated threads to educate people (like me) who grew up with basic 3x-9x capped scopes. I would like to learn (from a genuine source) how to effectively use different Mil Reticles. I would like to get a scope that I can dial and mostly use the miles for windage but I understand you can also use them for ranging and so forth.

In order to pick a scope, I need it to have an appropriate reticle, to pick a reticle, I need to know how to use them. How do I learn how to use them?

Are there already threads on here? Are the YouTube or rumble videos you like to reference? Please do educate me and direct me to sources so I can learn.
