Just finished up a hunt with my son. After 2 unsuccessful ( but fun ) hunts in Alaska ( sheep in 2020, goat in 21) finally scored ! Great trip and memories for a lifetime! It was a physical and extremely wet three days on the mountain But it was glorious ! Went with Pacific Mountain Guides out of Valdez guides were fantastic as well as the accommodations.

I wonder why your earlier goat hunt was unsuccessful? Usually it’s a high success type of hunt…

Care to share? Did you pass lesser animals? Go guided?

It was guided. Bad luck. We got dumped on while on the mountain. Had waist to belly deep snow. Although it obviously was not his fault. Tim treated us right on the return trip.

Well, got some bad news last month, my Dall Sheep hunt out of McGrath next season was cancelled. Probably just as well, as numbers are down horrifically.

Good news is, I found a goat hunt- so doing it again this year!
