Stove size recommendation please.

Shoot me a PM so I don't forget to measure tomorrow. Remember though that the pipe length will depend on what kind of stove you have too and how much clearance you want outside of the tent.

Sounds good. I was planning on setting it up tomorrow anyway so I can get some good measurements and photos.

I run an XL Seek outside Ti stove with a fairly long pipe in my SL5. I just didn't want to buy another stove between my big tepee and smaller one. I do find it works very well though. You don't have to pack it full and provides a nice volume to throw a few larger pieces of wood on just before going to sleep. I use it in SE Alaska where I am dealing with lots of moisture so the extra heat makes for a great drying camp environment.

Appreciate it, I think the XL is more than I want to pack. But ty.

Alright, I have a bunch of photos but essentially, you can see for yourself. The pipe is 7' long and the stove is an 8" DIY stove that bbrown hooked me up with. The stove is somewhat small but should be alright unless it is really cold. With different end plates, I should be able to upgrade to a 10" size by just swapping them out.

Everything packed up in the back pouch weighs in at 6lbs or a hair under.

The stove

Everything setup. You can see that there is quite a bit of clearance over the top of the tipi. I'm not sure if I want to cut some off or not.

I have a bunch of other photos if you want to see anything else.

I would leave it, rule of thumb I have been told is a min of a foot higher then the peak to reduce pinholes.

I would love any picks you have of your sl5, trying to get an idea if this is in fact the route I want to go. You can email them if it would be easier. [email protected] I would greatly appreciate it.

I had the jack put in by BearPawwd.

Here are the rest of the pics.
