Stone glacier quick-release rifle sling on other packs

I just purchased my first good pack the stone glacier x curved frame and sky 5900 and I'm taking it on a couple short hikes loaded with aboat 50 lb and I love it and I love the stone glacier quick-release gun mount my buddy has a Kifaru duplex frame and he's wondering if he can put a stone glacier quick-release on it instead of his gun bearer he likes the stone glacier better

Good question, also interested. I bought a Seek Outside pack, but I loved the SG rifle sling-very simple and light. It would be sweet to use it on the SO pack.

I put one on a Slumberjack pack last year and it worked well. I haven't tried it yet but I plan on putting it on my new MR Selway.

I run the SG gun sling on my SG and Kifaru. I only use it when I am packing or hiking at night. I put a buckle on the top and just unhook it and stuff it in the bag when not in use.

I too was wondering about this. You don’t happen to have any pics of how you set it up?

nothing special. I put a quick connect female on the frames and a self locking male on the gun strap. Since it worked nice, I will catch a smaller buckle setup sometime like a 3/4 or 5/8. there is no reason for a giant 1" buckle there.

What is the benefit to the SG over the kifaru gun bearer. How do you get the gun off the pack quickly

I use the universal gun bearer on SO pack, works great.

If it is hunting hrs, my gun is in my hands. I have never used the quick release. The SG setup is much lighter than the kifaru. I only use it so I can use my trekking poles, or hoof back in the dark.

So I already have the stone glacier quick-release rifle sling and I've read that some people run the Kifaru universal upper mount and the stone glacier cradle and I think I'm going to pick up that myself. Has anyone successfully put the stone glacier cradle mount on a Kifaru Frame and pack. My buddy has a Kifaru EMR 2 and the last gen duplex frame and he's wondering if he can learn the SG lower section because it's a lot lighter than the gun bearer
