Long story, but I’ve been looking for my first high end backpack. Read everything I could find online and watch d plenty of videos. I narrowed it down to the EXO 2000 or the SG Avail. Emailed both companies and asked a lot of questions. Both Pete and Lenny answered all my questions in a quick and prompt manner. I don’t know that I’ve ever had such a good experience with companies...ever. I have no doubt they’re both excellent quality.

I wound up going with the Avail because of the ability to use it as a stand alone for now, and add a frame later if I need it. I spent a lot of time going back and forth, but feel good with my choice. My choice may not be the best for you though....Either way I’d feel confident recommending either of these companies based on their level of customer service and interaction.

Thanks to both!

I have Stone Glacier xcurve with the R3 and my dad has the Exo 3500. Both awesome packs from great companies. You had a hard choice to make but I don't think you could have gone wrong. Let us know how you like your avail. I'd like to get one to attach to my xcurve frame.

So far so good. Still playing around with proper strap adjustments. Tried to adjust them as described in the video, and it just felt better to me a little higher up. Loaded it up with about 45 lbs and did a couple miles and felt great. Lots of storage and strapping options. Planning on a frame eventually. May just get the 3300 for a slightly bigger pack to go along with it. Seems like I like to buy packs...

Put the Avail to work today. Loaded up a healthy Michigan coyote. Carried very nice!
