Steiner GS3 Vs. VX-5

I have two VX-5s. Scope shopping and thinking of trying a deal from Doug on the GS3. Can anyone compare them for me? Glass clarity and low light performance. No dialing.

Also, is a 50mm objective going to give any low light performance advantage over a 42?

Have a gs3 3-15x50 on a rifle with the standard plex reticle. I got it for my dad to put on his varmint gun. I wanted something that would be clear, have good light transmission, and easy for his eyes to use. It’s a great scope that checked all those boxes. It’s not the lightest, but the build quality feels good and solid. I have not compared it to a vx5,but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Steiner is right there or even better as far a clarity goes. For the price Doug sells them for, I think they are a great option.
