Stand Up Freezer

Wondering if any of you could point me in the right direction of fixing this on my own. I have a newish standup freezer in the garage that I would like to get working correctly. It cools great but every once in awhile for some reason it will shut off. If I check it each day and make sure to move the thermostat it seems to kick it back on. Obliviously this is not a long term solution to check it each day and I have already lost some meat from it shutting off.

I would like to try and fix it myself if possible

Did you search on youtube? Make and model of course

I bet someone else has your same problem

Based on what you said about the Tstat, I would consider replacing it. Long distance trouble shooting is iffy at best.
