Hello,
Looking on any information on hunting spring bear on Afognak. My daughter drew the DB292 tag for spring of 2027. I have taken several bears in Alaska but never have had the opportunity till now to be part of a Kodiak/Afognak bear hunt. I have hunted Afognak several times with great success for deer and elk and have seen bears roaming the beaches at low tide, but this has always been in the late fall. In the months of April and may I'm curious to where they will be meandering around. If they will be high and going high and glassing all day will be the way to go or if finding a good glassing point low and watching the beaches is better. I imagine they can be both as they travel across the island. Any information to have a successful hunt with my kid would be greatly appreciated.
