I’ve had a Spot X messenger for 14 months, so 2nd backcountry snowboard season + Mtn biking, scouting and elk hunting season. My complaint is that the device seems to randomly get turned on no matter how I carry it. I’ve put it inside a glove in the lid of my pack and it sometimes gets turned on. I’ve put it on my hip belt and it occasionally gets turned on taking my pack on and off. Mtn biking, surprisingly doesn’t seem to be much of an issue even though it’s getting banged around inside my frame bag. When backcountry snowboarding, I prefer to keep it on my shoulder strap so that it is immediately available (this is definitely the most high risk activity and it seems stupid to not have it immediately available). It seems to get occasionally turned on from taking my pack on and off. Getting a little frustrated with the design.
