Dropped this buck at 100 yards but why is the exit hole penciled? 308 165gr accubond

Cause it’s a bonded bullet on a sub 200lb animal and it doesn’t appear to have hit any large bones.

Some bullets don’t open. But, it could have opened and still left a small hole.

Mechanically, hide is stretchy, so the hole won’t always be the same size as the object passing through it. Hide stretches out, and the bullet pops through, then the hide retracts.
