My wife and I are finally (now in my 50's) getting a chance to hunt a spring black bear. Given time and travel considerations our first choice is the Snowy Range. We've been heavy into the research/e-scouting and now wondering if anyone has insight into good DIY strategies for the area? Lot's of glassing or should we expect to be hunting forest service roads (are there a lot of gated roads to walk)? Is it worth to bring our side by side? We aren't 25 years old but we are in decent shape without any major physical obstacles. I know bear densities are higher in other parts of the state but does anyone have any advice that might help us cut down on the learning curve or waste a little less time trying to figure it once we get there?
