Snowmachine rifle boot/scabbard

What are you using to carry your rifle on your snowmachine (or snowmobile as some, less civilized my call it)? We've had the Kolpins break at the mount before, so interested to see what others have come up with.

Bungie cord to a rack and tunnel works but looking for something a little more solid.

We run the Kolpin gun boots, but instead of the new style mount that the boot clips into, get the old “sleeve” style that the whole boot slides into. And then we put a bunjee around the boot towards the end of the barrel and bring it back o somewhere on your machine’s frame. The cause of the mount breaking is usually from the boot whipping back and forth, so if you put a little tension on the end of the boot with a bunjee it really mitigates it.

I’ve used a kolpin for the last several years with no issues. Mine is an older one that has like a hoop the boot slides into and has a latch to hold it in. It’s worked great.

I want to get the newer boot that has a hinge lid to get your gun out, mine is the bold one that you have to take like half of it off to get your gun. I’ve had to go back so many times to find that back half after riding off with it on the back of the sled.
