Snake River December Short range weapon ELK hunt

I got that very long season TAG for the Snake river zone using short range weapons for ELK. I did find success earlier in th year with ELK, so this one will expressly hard to fill, but I wanna try. any advice? Cause I am sure it all open sage brush.. almost like hunting Speed Goats.
