Which head do you think i should go with? I like the 2.25 inch cutting surface of the magnum as i feel this would give a better blood trail but I like the cut on contact design of the viper trick but at 1 15/16" cutting surface, that leaves more opportunity for the blood to not spill out....what do you guys think?

I used the Viper Tricks last year. They flew great and I killed an elk and 2 deer but I wasn't impressed with the blood trails. I'm going back to the magnums this year.

I use the standard 125s and no problems with any animals. Great blood trails.

Use whichever shoots best. I've never had an issue with the standard slick trick. I regularly go back and forth between the slick trick and a rage two-blade. I'm having trouble deciding which to take on my elk hunt. I've used both heads on deer with great success, but the fixed vs. mechanical debate for elk still has me up in the air.

Between the two, Viper Tricks 100. 8 shots 8 bulls! 7 pass throughs, the other stayed inside on a frontal shot but buried to the point it was unseen!

I'm taking both in my quiver. I have never drawn blood with a viper trick, but I think it will do the job as long as I do mine. I have actually made up a hybrid magnum that has 1 standard blade & 1 magnum blade. They seem to shoot great.

I might have to try that.

ArcheryTalk has a huge thread about "FrankenHeads". Pretty interesting what some of the guys concoct.
