Looking for a 15-20 degree pack able sleeping bag around the $300 mark. One problem is I have wide ass shoulders. Not too worried about saving ounces but I want to be able to pack in a Metcalf. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions, thanks.

Welcome. I am 6’3” 250#. 50 inch coat.

I need a wide bag to sleep comfortably. A few thoughts to offer:

- Western mountaineering is top of the heap. Big side bags. About double your price range.
- kifaru makes a slick bag that is just a shade above your price but plenty wide.
- big Agnes makes some bags that have plenty of shoulder room for under $300
- I have a Nemo forte that has good shoulder room and tons of leg room. Excellent choice for a side sleeper for about $200
- I have an enlightened equipment apex convert quilt/bag that is roomy in bag mode and super roomy as a quilt. Runs around $225.

Quilt is the most comfortable option IMHO. You can open them up and have lots of room.

6,2 235ish but I hate being crammed in a bag. Looked real hard at Slumberjack down wind but can’t find much online as far as reviews. Well under your budget too.

Western Mountaineering makes a bag expander for sleeping bags. It is the slickest thing going to make all bags more comfortable. It is about 9” at the top and 5” at the bottom.
