SKRE Hardscrabble Sizing

I’m looking at purchasing a SKRE Hardscrabble jacket for the upcoming season and I’m looking for some information on their sizing. I know it says to size up but I’m usually in between a size medium and large so I’m unsure of what to get. I know they have VIP sizing but I’m trying to avoid using it so I get my jacket in time for mid September. What is everyone’s experience with sizing? Im 5’9 and 165 for reference.

Im 5’9 160 and sized up too, which didnt seem unusual since I fit a large kuiu guide. The large hardscrabble jacket was too big for me, unless heavily layering. Currently exchanging for a medium. In hindsight shouldve ordered both sizes and then use the free return label to send one back. Their return and exchange was real quick. Very happy with the ease of it all.
