I’ve worn the Sitka Heavyweight hoodie for some time and need a new one, but before buying another should I consider something else maybe the Kuiu Strongfleece 235?

So here's the deal with the Kuiu hoody. It's like you're back in 2005 and a young teen and Jessica Alba is hugging you in a dream. It's so comfortable! I've had a few Heavyweight Sitkas. No competition to Kuiu. It's a so comfortable. The outer side is silky smooth snd durable. Best hoody I own. The front pouch is super handy.

I do not have the 235, but have the orogonal strongfleece i beloeve it is 280 wt.

It is crazy warm. Like too warm to wear. It does not breath well but it is designed more as a midlayer with some pretty good wind resistance. The sitka hvywt is nothing similar. Grid fleece where wind goes right thru, a more true base layer.

The strongfleece i have is very comfortable, but i fond myself rarely wearing it. I typically want a layering system with base and jacket where i have flexibility to vent as needed.

The 235 wt strongfleece i assume is quite a but less heavy than the one i have tho, so ymmv.

Came for this same question. I’ve had the Sitka heavyweight for a while and I like it. I’m trying to find a heavier version without going to something like the traverse.

Anyone used the kuiu encounter 290 or strongfleece 275 to compare to the Sitka heavyweight?
