I think it is yet another KUIU product where the idea was great, the R and D was non existent, and the product falls extremely short of its potential. They are also overpriced for what you get.
The fact that the thing does not have straps from the shoulder straps to the actually "bivy" is beyond explanation. Does it work ok? For some people yes. Would it work better with those straps? ABSOLUTELY. There is ZERO disadvantage to having them other than they cannot publish that they are the "lightest" option. I like that they open away from you, and stay open, they are light, they are pretty and they are high quality.
To me, they were unusable. When I take my binos out, they slide down the chest so i have to hold it with one hand to place the binos in the pouch. On top of that, they are small and "floppy" so they are difficult to get rubberized larger binos in... my Zeiss victory HTs hated it. Nikon monarchs were ok. I also have gotten very fond of NOT having my binos tethered to the case, that is not an option. I like to hang my rangefinder on the side of my harness... thus, added weight, and more reason for my main complaint about poor design. The pockets are ridiculously small. And they don't offer much protection to your expensive optics.
I am obviously not a fan. I have literally tried every one on the market. Crooked horn, S4, badlands, eberlestock, sitka, Oregon pack works, FHF, and ACG.
My hands down, no questions asked favorite is the AGC, close second goes to FHF.
