There isn't much on the forum, or on the web about this jacket, but I sure do like the idea of it. I have carried a hard-shell for years, and it's primary use for me has bucking wind on longer sits, but it hardly ever makes it out of my pack for rain due to the climates I hunt. I also really like softshells, I spent most of this past rifle season in an arcteryx gamma lt and liked a lot about it except for the amount of wind that got through. After considering my options the flash pullover seems to check a lot of boxes - lightweight, windproof, can shed water from a brief storm, no insulation, and will allow me to ditch my hardshell. I'm just a little surprised by the lack of info on it, so I'm wondering if people hate it for some reason I am missing.

I tired one out for a bit, I liked the idea of it. But it really didnt breath at all, at least i found. I couldn't hike in it at all without feeling clammy and damp. So i guess if you used it just for a stationary sit it would be ok.

I wore the crap out of mine for the past two seasons. I liked it a lot for what you’re describing. It shed way more rain, snow, and sleet than it should have and blocks the wind really well. I’ve worn it over a light FL shirt as well as over puffies when it got colder. I’ve hiked all over in it during later seasons and been fine. The key there is not over doing base layers (and I’m a sweaty beast).
I think if it’s used properly and you don’t expect a miracle jacket it’s great.

When hiking remember: Be bold, start cold.
