I’ve been researching UV and deer (ungulate) vision the past few days. So I bought some Atsko UV Killer and a UV light and tested some things out. The clothing pictured is non-treated and washed in non-UV detergent. I was also interested in seeing what the clothing looked like under IR light. Sitka and FL have no factory UV in them (atleast the types of clothing I tested) It’s hard to tell in the picture but under UV the FL fusion looks black and white and the Subalpine retains a lot of its color. It looks like shades of tan and brown (green is invisible).

I did quite a bit of gathering research on Ungulate vision quite a while back. Considering the pattern of rods and cones of ungulates I'd say if you do have clothes with UV and you add movement, their detectability would go up significantly as compared to non movement (which I would expect to be very high.

I agree completely there! Having Non-UV clothes might help a guy get away with more

I’d be interested in seeing some the camo a with grey in them like Sitka Open Country and Kuiu’s camo. Grey’s supposed to stand out to deer/Elk but so much camo incorporates it, but so much natural rock is grey too.

I know personally I wouldn’t touch KUIU Vias with a 10 foot pole because of this. Maybe if I was sheep hunting in a grey rock terrain

Camo patterns are for people’s eyes, not animal eyes. I don’t care what a camo pattern is as much as the piece of Clothing it is attached to. I buy for purpose not appearance

And yet thousand of animals every year are killed by hunters wearing vias.

I know and no debating that at all. Confidence is huge and I wouldn’t feel confident wearing it

Same here mostly. I like the level of performance that come with Sitka and First Lite clothing
