Anyone have a chance to compare these two? Sirui is lighter and claims to support more weight, although Promaster has 9 layers vs Siriu's 8 layer. Price is very similar.

I don't think they are that similar. I have the Sirui T1205x with the C10 ball head and its 1lb 14oz all up and is $240 for the combo. The pro master is 2lb 12oz for just the legs and $300.

Do you have the 1205x or the t-025x? Cause the cheapest I've been able to find the 1205x is $275 w/o a head.

If you're talking about the Promaster XC525C, it is 2 lbs even for just the legs. 2 lbs 12 oz is including the ball head that comes with it. I love mine, great lightweight set-up with decent stability.

Ah yes your right I was mistaken. I have the T-025x. The 1205 has the center column below the legs and the 025 doesn't. That's one thing I wish I could change about my 025.

Have you looked at the slik 634? Probably not enough load capacity for what your looking for.

I've been curious on these two as well. I also like the slik 634 but have decided that I want the twist locks. They seem faster and easier to get out of a pack pocket. The one difference to me is the 525c gets up to 59"and the sirui goes up to 51.4". I don't think I would use the additional height very often, but it might be nice once in a while??

Any idea which would be more stable? The load capacity on tripods seems to be about as industry standard as sleeping bag temps.
