Sig Sauer Kilo 2200 BDX - Half Battery

I just bought a new Sig 2200 BDX Kilo LRF a few days ago. I noticed that on the battery display is showing at 50% some of the time. I replaced the battery with a new one and I am still having the same issue.

This is my first rangefinder and first Sig product. Is this normal or should I be looking at returning it?

I have one of the sig 2000 something lrf from 4 years ago and it does this. What I figured out was that you don’t need to crank that battery door down tight and that seems to help a lot
