Anyone rebarrel their Sig in 6? What barrel did you go with? Looking at XCaliber. Thinking a 20" sporter with some flutes.
Currently it's a 6.5 creed but the kids hate the hot loads the rifle likes. I don't even like them. And I don't want to back off the load.
Has anyone had their bolt opened up to magnum? Would be fun to make a 6 UM. Or I wonder if Sig will sell the 6.5 bolt.

Cannot buy bolts, cannot buy individual barrel nuts. Proof makes carbon cross prefits in 6cm. 6um will have the similar recoil as your 65cm, likely a bit more.

I also have a cross, and the 65cm barrel shoots pretty good. I'm not a fan of low and slow velocity so I've been working on 130tmk and 130 eldm loads with rl15.5 and 4350.

Looks like 2700-2730 is where it wants to be, which isn't hot in lapua brass but it's showing flattish primers. The 270-280bc of these bullets at this velocity is no wind cheater or ballistics beast. An 20in 6cm with push the same bc class bullet 200fps faster.

I did the 6 creed Proof prefit on mine. It’s primarily a thermal rig but used a scope for quick load dev. Recoil is noticeably lighter, but not significantly less. It runs and loves the 80eld-vt at 3230pfs and thru the thermal can consistently make 430yd impacts on 6” steal

Purchased an 18in proof carbon 6cm prefit. I wanted 20" but couldn't find one anywhere. Dropped weight by 4oz. I've got 100 rounds through it, it's sped up about 40 fps thus far.

Following along since I'm in the same boat as the OP. Considering a 16-18" 6 CM prefit for my 6.5 Cross in the next year or two, primarily for reduced recoil / easier impact spotting.
