Should I take rain gear?

This is the exact situation that I own "Space Rain" for. Not durable, but lightweight and easily packs to nothing.

Yup!! And have good rain gear at base camp or the truck for the storms like we have had during archery the past couple years.

I hunt in a pretty wet place. Two years ago it rained 18 days straight during the archery season. Even if it doesn't rain the dew will soak you every morning. I hunt with wet feet a lot but I HATE rain gear so I guess its just what you can deal with. A jacket is about as rain gear/windbreaker as I am going to get from August to mid October.

I hunt in colorado through out seasons. Last week of September you can get any type of weather. I may be an anomaly, but I always have a full set off rain gear. You never know when you are going to get slammed. I got my biggest bull to date a few years ago during the second week of archery when we had torrential rains. Having rain gear let me hunt every day, pattern the Bulls and connect on day 8 of the hunt. I use the rain pants for the dewy mornings when you might be sitting/kneeling in wet grass as well.
