Shortening a Badger dbm lever

I have a Badger M7 bottom metal on my 6.5. It has the standard lever hanging down under the trigger guard. Has anyone here shortened one? How short can you go without it being an issue? Pics?

I really like the system, just wish that lever didn't stick out so far. Just not sure how short to go before it gets hard to use with gloves, etc.

I've trimmed a number of them, of various manufacturers. How short is really up to you. Start small and keep trimming until you are happy.
