Shipping a gun from Virginia…anyone know the lowdown?

I need to ship a pistol from Virginia to a friend of mine in Alabama. I can’t find the laws dealing with this. Does anyone know if I need to send it through an FFL? Better yet, does anyone know where to find the laws dealing with this?

You'll need to send it TO his FFL. Some FFLs don't accept from individuals so verify this ahead of time.
Also, handguns cannot go USPS so must be fedex/ups. I'm sure others will chime in with more details

I just sent three handguns to my son. NY to WY. I drop it off at my FFL. They take care of all the shipping to his FFL. (obviously I pay shipping and insurance) He picks them up from his FFL and goes home. Nothing to it.
