SG 2022 new tent

Anyone have any more info on the new SG tent this year? 1p/2p 4 season free standing. Wanting to get a Sling Fin Portal and but curious about this one coming out. Brian Barney spoke about it. Thanks

it really comes down to personal preference.

I don't like crawling in/out over all my crap. Learned the hard way with the purchase of a Hilleberg tunnel tent. Personal preference more than anything else.

If the price and weight are right it could be a winner for some people. I'm betting it'll be +/- 3.5 lbs and well over $500.

agreed on the weight, likely around the 3lb mark and 475 price area is my guess.
considering the skyscraper 2p is 595.

for a "4 season tent" and that weight, cant really go wrong.

I have not personally used the SG 2P, however I do have a good amount of experience in the KUIU mountain star 2P. (apples to oranges)

Although the weight of the SG 2P might appear on the lighter side.. it is just shy of 5lbs.. which puts it in the ballpark of other lighter 4 season tents.

There are a few Rokslide reviews done on the Skyscraper 2P.

Back on topic - I am, and have been on a never ending quest in finding the perfect back packing solo tent...
from floored, to floorless, back to floored.. I am eager to see what SG has to offer with this new 1P tent.

I own the SG Skyscraper 2P tent and don’t ever plan on replacing it. Had it in the low teens with 1.5 ft snow and was very comfy. Was in high winds and the tent never budged and was fairly quiet inside. Fit two guys with sleeping pads no problem. easy to set up and take down. Not sure I’ll get the 1P tent as I’d probably use my 2P solo and enjoy the extra room. Really like this tent and have had 0 issues thus far.

I would have to argue, If that is infact true.. likely due to poor choice of location for setting up a shelter, etc. Which most tents in this weight category can most definitely fail with neglect.

Yes when I'm in interested in a product I read and listen about it. If I hear of failures I research and buy something better.
Only an imbecile would hear bad things about something them spend money on it and risk a hunt and your life on it.

You also haven't used a skyscraper 2p so it pure hearsay that you think they never fail?
