Feeling the reloading squeeze, so I picked up a partially full jug of Varget from an acquaintance. Date of manufacture 2011. I noticed that after pouring it into my dispenser, the kernels all flowed normally but there were some flakes left behind in the funnel that are definitely not present in any of the current production stuff I have. No unusual smell that I can tell and color seems normal. Is this good to go or a concern? Thanks in advance.

Looks like tumbling media....any chance he pulled a bunch of bullets and dumped the powder back in the jug? I have seen a few times when guys don't get all the tumbling media out of the cases before loading them again.

Looks more like flake powder in person than any kind of tumbling media I've ever seen. Same color and has the same sheen as flake powder.

Not sure what to make of your pic, but at any rate.......if there is a slightest chance that the powder has been contaminated with another I personally would throw it out. But that's just me.....

Looks like a flake powder to me also. Givin current conditions I'd probably dump it out on a big sheet of wax paper and spread it around to see how contaminated it is. If I was comfortable it wasn't much contamination, personally I'd probably use it in some light loads, for offhand practice or Form's practical drill or something.

I'm still working on Varget I bought in 1998 so I think yours should be fine. But then again mine doesn't have the little flakes like yours.
