Was just checking out the seekoutside webage, dreaming about some of their tents, and noticed they have a new one,

http://store.seekoutside.com/bt-2/

Comparable in size to an SL-3, but it is 1/3 the weight... could be a good replacement for the Mountainsmith LT....

saw that as well and my first thought was sl-3. except lighter. and more versatile. with im guessing, just going on my experience with seekoutside/golite products, more ingenuity and intuitive features.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. Would be a pretty nice solo shelter. Somewhat on the heavy side (if you think about tarp shelter, (zpack), but at the price, I think this would be a great solo +

They have some good pricing. Ive been eyeing the nest for use inside a floorless shelter. Mainly to escape critters.

Here's my question. Moisture. I mean anywhere you touch the side of a tent they leak especially when its raining I've never used a teepee style tent. But tents drive me crazy when they start gushing water. The best tent I've had has been my REI Taj. Rained all day on me a couple weeks ago. Got a couple of drippers however I've never had a leak before. This Taj is 12 years old.

As a newb to this group I'm curios how the single wall teepees fair in such weather. For the money the seek looks great either the BT-2 or LBO shelter.

Once they're seam sealed, they don't leak at all. Unless it's down pouring for some time, then you may get some drips from a stove jack (if installed) because of the velcro. You do get condensation from your breath, and people mistake that for a leak...
