Seekins Precision just released a new lightweight mountain hunting rifle called the Havak Element. Specs state that it is 5.5 pounds and include a new 7075 billet aluminum action body and lightweight mountain hunter profile 21" barrel. Also an integrated bubble level. Carbon fiber stock and detachable mag. Timney Elite Hunter trigger set at 2.5lbs. Threaded muzzle so it is ready for a brake or can. 20MOA rail is integrated as is the recoil lug. MSRP is $2800.
Basically they are semi custom rifles and can be customized thru the custom shop. Currently offered in 6.5PRC.
I bought a Havak rifle in 6Creed when it was first introduced and I really like it a lot. Extremely accurate with Hornady Precision Hunter ammo. I have reloading dies and reload for all of my other rifles but my Havak is so accurate with the one factory load that I have not even tried to make it better.
I am a little wary of the aluminum action on this new Element rifle as it has steel parts pressed into the Aluminum action. But I am sure that Seekins has done their homework and tested it before release.
Looking forward to someone getting their hands on one and testing it for everyone on the board.
