Seek outside packs

Hello everyone, I'm looking for advice on some of the packs offered by seek outside. Ive been in contact with them on and off and they offered great help but was wanting some opinions from here. So I've been leaning towards the revo frame and 3900 fortress bag in the lightest fabric they offer, but I'm slowly switching to the unaweep platform with the same configuration aunt would be lighter with the same load hauling abilities. Do you think the lightest fabric would be tough enough for your average elk and mule deer hunt, say 20 days in the field a year with some summer backpacking mixed in? What about size? My gear fits into a 3000 bag right now with enough room for three days of food. Also what's your preferred way to pack meat? In the bag, between the frame and bag, or with the unaweep it can be compressed outside of the bag with talon and gear in the bag acting as a load shelf?

Thanks for the advice guys.

Unless you pack carefully you will have gear poking you in the back with the Unaweep. I'd go Revolution were it me.

The lightweight fabric is plenty tough for what you describe if you're even moderately carefull with your gear.

sounds like I'll be going with the lighter fabric then, thank you! There is an additional horizon stay that can be purchased for the unaweep if I understand correctly that would prevent stuff poking me in the back, plus I'm pretry anal about how I pack so I don't assume Id have to worry to much about stuff intruding.

The lightest fabric (X21) will suit you just fine unless you're careless.

The horizon stay goes a long way towards solving most pokey issues with the Unaweep platforms, but it is not as idiot proof as the Revolution frame. But the Revolution is heavier.

I've packed quite few critters inside various versions of the Unaweep, and a few between the bag and frame with the Revolution. Between the frame and bag is my preference with whole quarters, and is faster and easier. The 3900 size bag is great for this approach as it's fairly tall and thin and thus keeps the COG close no matter what you do. Boned out meat in bags is my preference when using the Unaweep. This rides just as well as the Revolution, but you have to compress the bag and pack other gear strategically to keep the meat from slipping down, and take steps to keep blood off your other gear.

In my mind the Unaweep is the lighter and sleeker platform and gets the nod when weight is at a premium. I do like the meat shelf option of the Revolution because it's easier to keep the meat separate and all other gear clean. That gets the nod in cases when the packout might be more than a day, or when it's very short and I want to pack out whole quarters and ribs.

Thanks for the help Dave, I appreciate the help. For my needs it sounds like the unaweep fwll be perfect and extremely light compared to others. Only thing I might miss is the ability to have the peregrine daypack.

I have the revo/peregrine combo with the daypack talon and love it. The rating for the peregrine seems clear to a 2800 size than the 2400. There's enough straps and carrying capacity I could easily do 3 days with this setup.

You guys might have swayed me back to the revo as packing between frame and bag is what I see as most efficient plus the ability to have the peregrine for a day pack. But I'm still liking the lightness of the unaweep and it seems from my research on this sight that most people pack meat in the bag. Decisions, decisions...
